Popkomm Music Festival and Convention, Berlin

One of the biggest, oldest and best established music conventions in Europe, Germany's massive Popkomm event kicks off on the 29th of September until the 1st October for yet another 3 days of conventions and networking and 3 nights of the best modern musicians performing at events around this years host city of Berlin.

Representing electronica at the event in 2004 will be Paul Van Dyk, Jazzanova, Richie Hawtin, Miss Kittin, Thomas Fehlmann and a Metalhedz event with Goldie, Grooverider and Metro all playing at popular venues throughout the convention.

Labels, manufacturers, PR and management agencies and of course the press will spend the daytime taking part in seminars, discussing the future of the industry and making contacts while fans will be able to wander and admire the latest offerings from the equipment makers bound to have wannabe DJ's mouth's watering. Topics such as New marketing and the result of new technology on sales will all be hotly debated by some of the industries most important players.

Of course there will be a large contingent from the German scene there with labels such as Compost and artists such as M.A.N.D.Y. and Jazzanova reaffirming Germany as one of the leaders in contemporary electronic music.
