The Not So Top 150

With all the exhilaration, excitement and astonishment of DJ Mag’s Top 100 a distant memory the magazine have decided it's time to revive some of those forgotten feelings by revealing those DJs who didn’t quite make the cut.
The new list published recently by DJ Mag features 150 of the finest unloved DJs in the world. Among the forgotten heroes is Renaissance’s flavour of the month Nic Fanciulli and Latin Berliner Ricardo Villalobos who has recently released a 37-minute musical marathon entitled ‘Fizheuer Zieheuer’.
Joining his friend Ricardo in the bottom 150 was fellow Chilean minimalist Luciano as well as Richie Hawtin’s sidekick Magda who dropped 53 spots from top hundred appearance last year. But it wasn’t just techno heads that felt the sting of DJ Mag’s unforgiving rankings, many dedicated house jockeys also find themselves floating in the low hundreds.
Boompty Boomp king Derrick Carter, Master At Work’s Little Louie Vega and ex-Chicago resident Mark Farina all posted sub-250 positions and are surrounded by some of breaks’ highest profile DJs including Against The Grain’s Krafty Kuts and the man who obviously took his name from a porn video, Meat Katie.
