Fox In The Maison

The Kitsune gang are back with the third CD in their popular “Kitsune Maison Compilation” series. The disc not only features Erlend Oye and pals as the Whitest Boy Alive but also shows off the talents of Simian Mobile Disco, whose name should ring a bell from their work with Justice on the track ‘Never Be Alone’.
British house foursome Freeform Five also offer up their track ‘Home Wit U’ to go alongside the music of Bloc Party remixing expert Boys Noize, French Filtered house scene veteran Alex Gopher and post-punk popsters the Lovely Feathers.
Despite the French address, Kitsune actually takes its name from the Japanese word for fox and has a strong Japanese connection that many listeners may not know about. The fashion / record label is run by a crew of six which includes two Japanese expatriates, remixer/DJ Masaya Kuroki and designer Maki Suzuki.
Kitsune also owes a lot of its success to Korean/Japanese artist Towa Tei who gave the young label its first release in 2002, but is most famous as being part of 90’s group Deee-Lite.
“Kitsune Maison Compilation 3” will be released on December 2.
