More Quality Music in 2005

The Soulful Manchester funksters over at Grand Central have announced details of their first releases for 2005 and it looks like its going to be the start of another hugely successful year for the label started in 1995 by DJ Mark Rae.

First up on 7th Febuary is Veba Vs Grand Central. Second in the series, after last year's Kate Rodgers Vs Grand Central, it's a collection of favourite tracks sung on by the outstanding vocalist from some of the early Grand Central releases like 'Spellbound' with Rae & Christian to work with Fingathing, Only Child and Mark Rae. It also includes tracks previously only available on Vinyl like 'All I Ask' with DJ Spinna and 'Lavish' with the Deadbeats. A supremely talented artist it's a collection of soulfelt tracks from Grand Central's first lady.

Next up on the 21st February is Grand Central Compilation 3, a rather unimaginatively titled, you guessed it compilation series but with music this good they don't need fancy names or elaborate graphics. The quality of the content has made the last 2 and from the looks of it number 3 is going to continue the tradition. Selected by the Grand Central crew it's their favourite releases of the last 4 months, some of it previously only available on Vinyl and some of it yet to be released it's a mix of Reggae, Electro, Dub, House, Soul and hiphop with contributions from Rob Sith, an exclusive remix of Boca 45 by Geoff Barrow (Portishead), Max Sedgely The Nudge, of course Mark Rae and the other usual Grand Central suspects.

Maintaining the quality the label has rightly become well known for make sure you get your hands on the next offering latest offering from the buzzing Manchester scene.
