Chicago Moves to the Sounds of House Music

Text by Nick Lawrence (HigherFrequency)

You can argue until you are blue in the face as to what house music actually is but why waste your time. How about getting out there and dancing to it instead? Well, July 22-23 brings the perfect opportunity for those with house music pulsing through their veins to take to the dancefloor at the birthplace of house music, Chicago. The non-profit group CDM Chicago and the Illinois Bureau of Tourism have joined forces to organize the two days worth of festivities at the Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island.

The founding father of the genre, Frankie Knuckles, will be present and accounted for along with some of Chicago's own like Derrick Carter and Steve Hurley. Despite being held in Chicago the event will not discriminate against outsiders, with David Morales and Danny Tenaglia helping to pay homage to the style. With all the names onboard for the event you are sure to have flashbacks to the 80's when it all began.
